Saudi Arabia women can now travel without male permission

Following the new decree by king Salman, Saudi Arabia women will no longer need permission of male gaudians, either to travel or obtain a passport.

A series of cabinets decree released by the official Saudi gazette on Friday, stipulated the right that every Saudi Arabia citizen has to obtain a passport and limit the need of guardian’s approval.

The later system required the women to seek approval from their guardian usually their father or husband in the case of married women, but sometimes a son or brother to marry apply for passport and leave the country.

The amendment also grant the women, for the first time wright to register child’s birth, marriage or divorce and to be issued original documents and be eligible for gudians to minior children.

Last year the kingdom lifted the ban on driving for women, who also need permission from guardian before styding in the university, undergo surgery or get a job.

The decree isdused on Friday also covers employment regulation With intention of getting job for women who represent a huge amount of unemployed Saudis.

According to latest report from World Bank, about 20 per cent of Saudi women workforce were employed in 2018.

The document say that all Saudi citizen are entitle to work without discrimination based on gender, disability or age.

Crown prince Mohammed bin Salman has lifted restrictions which is only apply to women with the aim of improving the economy.

In 2016 he disclosed his aim to transform the economy in the year 2030 and to improve women workforce from 22 per cent to 30 per cent.

Earlier this year menay media outlet reported that his decision to remove travel restriction on women had been mooted at Government level.
