Cairo explosion; 20 killed and 47 others injured.

No fewer than 20 peopled have been killed, 47 others injured following an explosion near a medical center in Cairo, Egyptian Health ministry reported on Monday.

The Ministry said on Sunday that the explosion occurred outside the Nation Cancer institute after a collision involving multiple cars in southern district of al- Manyal.

The blast also caused major fire outbreak that was extinguished, state media reports.

Confirming the incident the Ministry spokesman Khaled Megahed said 47 people was injured after earlier statement put the number at 30. He said most of the victim are in comma except for three people who are currently receiving intensive treatment.

Megahed by the al-Ahram newspaper said has said three bodies is still unidentified. Shortly after the explosion patients were evacuated from the Oncology center to other hospital in Cairo.

State media television reported that the center had started receiving patients since Monday afternoon.

Eyes witnesses said that, the explosion occurred near the broader area of Nile River and scattered the glass window into the medical center.

The center contain people from across Eygipt who can for medical treatment. Online fostage showed several car destroyed by the flame as a result of the blast.

Although, Cairo University, which was the center of the affiliate, denied that the explosion occoured inside the center and did not spread into its center.

The State owned university said “All the patients and the workers at the center are well.

The Country’s top prosecutor has ordered investigation into the cause of the explosion.
