One shot dead as police cultists clash, in Delta

An unidentified man was shot dead, on Tuseday in a clash between the police and some suspected cultists, at Express Junction in Udu council area of Delta state.

The police operatives from Ovwian/Aladja Division had gone to put an end to a clash among rivail cult group in the area the Nation report.

It was also reported that one of the cult group open fire on policemen which resulted into exchange of bullet between them and the police.

One of the cultist was said to have been gun down by the police while others took yo their heels.

Confirming the incident Delta Commissioner of Police, Mr Adeyinka Adeleke, said: “Cultists clashed with Police and one was shot dead. The person is a cultist.”

The council boss of Undu, Hon. Jite Brown, had last week announced dusk to down curfew in the local government in other to protect life an property of the people.
