A Magistrates Court situated in Ado-Ekiti, Chief as on Wednesday, remanded in prision a 57-year-old man, identified as Adebayo Olowolayemo, for allegedly defiling an 8-year-old girl.
Olowolayemo was said to have lured the girl to his house and take advantage if her.
The defendant according to Inspector Johnson Okunade, the police prosecutor said, Ololayemo commuted the crime on September 14 in Ifaki-Ekiti, Ido/Osi Local Government Area of the state.
Okunade who explained, to the court, how the defendant comite the crime said:
“The victim was sent on an errand by her mother in the neighbourhood and the defendant saw her and lured her into his house and had carnal knowledge of her.
“The offence contravenes Section 31 (2) of the Child Rights Law Cap C7 of Ekiti State, 2012.”
Okunade further said that the case file had been duplicated and sent to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for advice.
Although the defendant plea guilty, the court did not take his plea.
The case was adjourned to September 27 by the Magistrate chief , Mr.Adesoji Adegboye, while the defendant by remanded in prison custody.
