Al-Nassr have reportdely terminated the contract of Cameroon forward, Vincent Aboubakar, Newspremises has gathered.
Aboubakar put up an outstanding performance for Cameroon at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, leading his team and scoring twice in three games.
However, in an ironic turn of events, the 30-year-old was brutally fired to make room for Cristiano Ronaldo, who was signed by the team earlier this week.
Al Nassr made the choice to part ways with Aboubakar because they needed to make room in their roster because they had used up all of their foreign players, according to SportBible.
The Cameroonian was rumored to be on the verge of signing a loan deal with Manchester United, who are in desperate need of a forward following Ronaldo’s contentious exit.
Following his transfer to Al-Nassr, Ronaldo was supposed to team up dangerously with Aboubakar up front, but the envisioned partnership will only exist in the head.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo will now likely make his debut in Al-Nassr’s Pro League home game against Al-Ettifaq on January 22, GOAL reports.
