Asamoah Gyan heaps Sadio Mané praises, calls him the ‘face of Africa’

Black Stars of Ghana all-time top scorer, Asamoah Gyan has heaped praise on Liverpool and Senegal forward Sadio Mané, Newspremises reports.

The former Ghana captain who is said to be launching his autobiography soon, gave Mane a pat on the back following his astonishing performance for both club and country.

Gyan however, expressed is delight in Mane Mané’s goal against Villarreal in the Champions League semi-final and assured him of his unflinching support.

“We’re happy for you. Nice goal last [Wednesday] night and congratulations. Your guy [Diouf] told me about you and he said he’ll call so that I speak to you,” Gyan said as quoted by Football Ghana.

Mané equals Didier Drogba champions league goalscoring record

Newspremises had previously reported that, Saido Mane has equalled Didier Drogba as the African with the most goals in UEFA champions league history.

Liverpool beat Villarreal 2-0 in the first leg of the champions league semi final at Anfield and Mane scored the second goal.

With Mane’s goal against the Yellow Submarine, the Senegal ace has matched a feat only achieved by the Ivorian football legend, Didier Drogba, as the African player to score 14 goals in the Champions League.
