Borussia Dortmund ‘stance’ on Jadon Sancho deal emerges after star makes shock transfer decision ahead of summer

The latest rumour centres around the possibility of signing a new midfielder, while the future of a current United player is also the subject of speculation.

Reports from Germany have provided an update on Jadon Sancho’s future with United. Sky Germany have reported that Borussia Dortmund would like to keep the forward beyond his loan deal which is set to expire at the end of the season.

The report claims that United value Sancho at €40 million (£34 million), which is said to be a potential stumbling block on a deal from Dortmund’s perspective.

However, it has been stated that the Bundesliga club still have aspirations of signing Sancho on a permanent basis before the start of next season.

Sancho has made 11 appearances for Dortmund since his move to Germany in January. The on-loan United forward has scored two goals and two assists and has helped Dortmund reach the Champions League quarter-final.

Elsewhere, United are reportedly facing fresh competition for the signing of Atalanta midfielder Ederson. The Brazilian has been credited as a potential target for the Reds in some reports in recent months.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are showing an interest in signing Ederson this summer. It has been stated that the midfielder is valued by Atalanta at €30 million (£26 million) and is likely to be a target for several other clubs.

As well as United and Barcelona, Ederson is also apparently a target for Liverpool, Newcastle, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid, as well as AC Milan and Inter Milan.

Ederson was first linked with a move to United during the January transfer window. The midfielder has impressed at Atalanta this season, scoring six goals in 38 appearances in all competitions and helping the club climb up to sixth in Serie A and reach the Europa League quarter-final.
