Chelsea legend Didier Drogba hails Victor Osimhen, reveals why he is a complete striker

Chelsea and Ivory Coast legend, Didier Drogba has applauded Nigerian forward Victor Osihmen for his impressive performances so far this season for Napoli, who are currently sitting at the top Serie A table.

Osimhen continues to excite Napoli supporters with his prolific goal-scoring, even scoring a hat-trick in his team’s most recent match against Sassuolo.

Drogba was watching Osimhen when he decided to give his teammate the opportunity to play a penalty rather than taking it himself.

Drogba praised Osimhen as a complete and selfless striker in a comment he made in response to a video that was posted on Twitter.

Drogba’s remarks about Osimhen

”That’s a complete striker: unselfishness… the real meaning of ‘win as A TEAM’.”

Osimhen has now scored six goals in his past four outings across all competitions since his return.

The Nigerian has also become the fifth African to score a hat-trick in Italian Serie A, after Liberia’s George Weah (for AC Milan in 1998), Cameroon’s Patrick Mboma (for Cagliari in 1999), Egypt’s Mohamed Salah (for AS Roma in 2016) and Senegal’s Keita Balde (for Lazio in 2017).
