It is no longer news that Chelsea will take on Portuguese side Fc Porto in the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League after the draws were made on the 19th of March, 2021 at the UEFA Headquarters.
However, dates were subsequently announced and the Blues will play their first leg against the Portuguese side who qualified to the round of 16 by finishing second in the same group that had Man city and surprisingly knocking out Juventus out of the competition away from home on the 7th of April, 2021 before hosting their opponents a week later at Stamford Bridge on the 13th of April, 2021.
If the Blues make it to the Semis, they will take on either Liverpool or Real Madrid on 27/28 April and 4/5 May.
As football lovers around the globe gets set for this rather tricky tie, it is petinent to note some facts;
The two sides, Chelsea and Porto have been drawn together four times in the UCL but only once in the knock out stages.
Their draw against each other came in the 2004/05 where then Chelsea Manager came up against his former side which lifted the trophy the previous season and the blues came out victorious with a 3-1 win.
Chelsea have won five of their eight encounters, drawn once and lost only twice to the Portuguese side.
