Christian Atsu’s family have announced the date and venue for the final funeral rites of the late Ghanaian footballer, Newspremises reports.
The announcement was made at the one-week observance of Atsu, who sadly passed away on February 18 following the devastating quake which rocked Turkey and Syria.
Atsu’s body was found under the rubble at his home in Antakya, South Turkey, after several days of search, according to Al Jazeera.
After his achievement with with the Ghana men’s football national team, interlaced with his heartwarming social interventions, Atsu will be given a state burial, per Joy News.
His remains would be laid to rest on Saturday, March 17, at the Forecourt of the State house in Accra.
Apparently, Atsu’s funeral will be held six days before the Black Stars’ 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on March 23.
