Edouard Mendy rejectes Chelsea’s new contract extension offer

Chelsea first choice goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy has reportedly rejected the club new contract extension offer for an improved deal, Newspremises has learnt.

The Senegalese is said to be holding out for a better deal from the club.

The new deal offered Chelsea we will see Mendy still earn less than £190,000-a-week which is what his number two Kepa Arrizabalaga earns at Stamford Bridge.

According to Daily Mail, Mendy is said to be one of Chelsea’s lowest earners, having joined the west London club in from Rennes in 2020.

Mendy went to establish himself as Chelsea first choice goalkeeper after joining them in 2020 and helped the club to win the UEFA Champions League title in 2021.

Mendy has three years left on his current deal with Chelsea, untill 2025 and the Blues will be in no apparent hurry to finalise the extension.
