A part of the Federal Secretariat building in Abuja has reportedly been razed by fire on Wednesday evening, Newspremises has learned.
Newspremises gathered that by Thursday morning, more than a dozen cars were found to have been completely consumed by the fire.
The cause of the fire which blazed at the Ministry of Education section, is yet to be ascertained.
The government department is located at the Three Arms Zone and accommodates several offices.
Meanwhile, there have been at least five other fire incidents at key government agencies in the last two years.
In October 2019, it would be recalled that, flames engulfed the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) headquarters in Abuja.
A portion of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was also razed by fire on April 17, 2020.
Just over one week earlier, some workplaces at the Accountant General’s office got razed.
Days before the incident, a similar outbreak occurred at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
The causes of the fire outbreaks were never made public.
