Few months ago, a lot of fans and pundits would’ve thought that Chelsea will finish the season trophy less due to their poor run of form under Frank Lampard.
The blues were experiencing a very bad run of form and could not win 5 games in a row.
This led to the eventual sacking of Frank Lampard and the installment of Thomas Tuchel as the new blues manager.
Since that very managerial change, the blues have looked like a team reborn.
They are yet to lose a single game under the German gaffer and are making slow but steady progress in their cup competitions.
Now Tuchel have taken the blues past two knockouts phases in two competitions; the UEFA Champions League and The Emirates FA Cup.
The blues are currently scheduled to face Manchester City in the semifinals of the FA Cup and also take on FC Porto in the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
All talks have been centred around Chelsea’s push for their first European title after their last success in 2012.
But the Champions league isn’t the first trophy Thomas Tuchel is much more closer to winning as Chelsea boss.

Make no mistake, this article was not written to undermine Manchester City’s credentials in the FA Cup but given that City is the only big team remaining in the competition, Chelsea have a 40 percent chance of winning the FA Cup compared to Champions league where their chances are just 13 percent.
With Chelsea playing Manchester City in the semifinals, Tuchel could guide his side past Pep Guardiola’s team and into the finals where they would be outright favourites to clinch the trophy.
The FA Cup is the oldest competition in the world so wining it would be considered a huge achievement for Thomas Tuchel.
Frank Lampard came close to winning the trophy last season but fell short to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and now Thomas Tuchel has a chance to change that. For the past few seasons, Chelsea have made it into the quarterfinals stage of the FA Cup, last winning thr trophy under Antonio Conte in 2018.
This time around there is a real chance of victory, and considering that Pep Guardiola might choose to prioritize the Champions league and the Premier league over the FA Cup, the trophy is Thomas Tuchel’s to lose.
