Former Chelsea trainer Frank Lampard has lifted the lid to reveal one thing he failed to do while he was in charge of the blues team.
Chelsea enjoyed good football under Frank Lampard who made great changes to the club’s playing style after becoming the manager. Even though he inherited a squad which was depleted due to injuries and out gone players, the England international did well to revive Chelsea’s hopes for a great future as he challenged for the title with academy players being a huge part of his team. The following season saw the former coach go 17 matches unbeaten in all competitions before he eventually got sacked.
However, it looks like Lampard is yet to forget about his Chelsea ordeal as he has yet again spoken about what he left undone at the club. According to The Metro, Lampard revealed that signing up West Ham United star player Declan Rice into his chelsea team is one thing he failed to do as he admires the player so much.
The Metro also has it that the £80m price tag of Rice caused a disagreement between Lampard and Marina Granovskaia as the club’s director felt the player was too costly.
Although, Chelsea are doing just great at the moment as Lampard’s replacement Thomas Tuchel has instilled great form at the club. The unavailability of Rice has not prevented the German from doing good business in the Champions League either.
