Ghana legend Michael Essien celebrates Osimhen after Napoli league triumph

Former Chelsea and Ghana ace, Michael Essien has congratulated Victor Osihmen after winning the Serie A title with Napoli.

The Nigerian striker inspired Napoli to their first league title in 33 years after scoring 23 Serie A goals this season. Osimhen could add to his tally with four matches remaining.

In winning the league with Napoli, the 24-year-old also broke George Weah’s long-standing Serie A record as the African player with the most goals in the Italian league, netting his 47th goal against Fiorentina last Sunday.

Osimhen’s accomplishment has been celebrated across the continent with the likes of Didier Drogba all paying tribute to the striker.

His prolific goal scoring form has seen him become a target for German giants Bayern Munich as well as French side Paris-Saint Germain, as reported by GOAL.

The FIFA U17 World Cup winner’s future will be decided in the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, Essien spent a season-and-a-half in the Italian Serie A with AC Milan between 2014 to 2015.
