“He is finished”– Cristiano Ronaldo slammed for big chance miss during Man United clash vs Omonia in the Europa League

Cristiano Ronaldo has come under fire after he failed to capitalize on a crucial scoring opportunity during Man United’s Europa League match against Omonia on Thursday night.

The United forward has battled with form and playing time so far this season, with Erik ten Hag largely passing him up.

The 37-year-old has only scored once for the Red Devils due to a lack of playing time as his difficulties in front of goal persist.

And during United’s encounter with Omonia in their third Group E match of the Europa League, it was essentially the same tale.

During the trip to Cyprus, Ronaldo was inserted into the starting lineup with the goal-scoring role assigned to the forward.

However, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner made little impact in the match as he fired blanks during the match.

Cristiano Ronaldo slammed for missing goalscoring chance

The Portuguese star may have himself to blame for failing to find the back of the net against the Cypriot side.

Ronaldo was presented with several goalscoring chances, but he could not bury the ball inside the net.

His biggest chance to score came with 15 minutes left on the clock when the ball was laid in his path from eight yards out. However, Ronaldo could not hit the target as his effort came off the post.

His miss sparked reactions online, with some fans claiming the United star is finished.

One posted: “I was defending Ronaldo, but not anymore. I’m afraid he’s finished.”

Another added: “How did Ronaldo not score there. Just wow…”

A third noted: “It’s sad to see this version of Ronaldo.”

While another concluded: “Ronaldo is finished.”
