“I don’t know what’s going on”– Bruno Fernandes provides update on Ronaldo’s future at Old Trafford

Manchester United midefider, Bruno Fernandes has give fresh update on Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Old Trafford, Newspremises reports.

Ronaldo has been a subject of transfer rumors in recent weeks, with Manchester United striker heavily linked with a potential summer exit.

It was announced earlier this month that, Cristiano Ronaldo wanted to leave Manchester United this summer but his exit hasn’t gone to plan since as no club seems interested in the 37-year-old.

The striker’s desire to leave the Premier League club is said to be a result of wanting to play with a team capable of winning the Champions League and it was also stated that he wasn’t impressed with United’s transfer business at the time.

The five-time Balloon d’Or winner has since been missing in action and is yet to link up with his United teammates for the pre-season.

Bruno has now cast doubt on Ronaldo’s Old Trafford future with the midefider admitting he does not know whether Ronaldo wants to remain at Old Trafford or not.

Despite the uncertainty, the midfielder insisted that Ronaldo must be afforded time and space to decide his future.

“I don’t know, obviously Cristiano was our top scorer last season, he added goals to us, but obviously it’s not on me, it’s the club that has to make the choices and Cristiano makes his own choice,” Fernandes told Manchester United media.

“I don’t know what’s going on in his head, if he wants to leave, it’s all about the news. I didn’t ask them that.

“The only thing I asked Cristiano when he didn’t turn up, was if everything was OK with the family, he told me what was going on, that’s it and nothing more.

“We have to respect the decision of everyone. I don’t know what Cristiano said to the club, to the manager, I don’t know what is going on in his head, but we have to respect his space.

“From everything we know, he had some family problems, so we have to give him some space and that’s it.”

But manager, Erik ten Hag insisted that the Portuguese superstar is not for sale this summer and may extend his stay to 2024.
