“I never asked for my in January”– Mbappe breaks silence on ‘leaving’ PSG

Paris Saint-Germain superstars, Kylian Mbappe has reacted reports making the rounds that he wanted to quit the French League 1 Champions in January, after his side’s triumph in Le Classique against Marseille, Newspremises reports.

Mbappe dismissed reports suggesting he asked to leave PSG next year, amid reports of a ‘broken relationship’ with teammates and club executives.

The World Cup winner’s future was cast into doubt as reports spread like wildfire last week, claiming that he wanted to leave Le Parisiens and was even considering terminating his contract, with Real Madrid named as his preferred destination.

Speaking after PSG’s narrow win against fierce rivals Marseille, the former AS Monaco prodigy revealed he has never asked to leave and even confirmed his commitment to the club.

“I’m very happy. I never asked for my departure in January,” he told RMC Sport. “The info that came out on the day of the match [against Benfica], I didn’t understand. I was just as shocked as everyone else. There are people who may think I’m involved in this, but I’m not involved. I was taking a nap.”

“My entourage was at my little brother’s game; all the people who take care of me weren’t there so we were flabbergasted when we heard about it. Afterwards, we had to deal with it, there was a game to play. Just to say that it is completely wrong and I am very happy.”
