Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar has jumped to the defence of his teammate, Lionel Messi who was something being receiving end of boo and criticism by fans last season, Newspremises reports.
The Argentine captain had a poor season by his own standards following his stunning move to the League 1 giants from Barcelona.
Neymar has equally been criticised for failing to live up to his huge potential and transfer fee. But the duo started off the new season on the right note by guiding PSG to the French Super Cup in the absence of Kylian Mbappe.
Goal reports that Neymar was livid with people’s comments about Messi.
“I don’t think so. I think people talk too much,” Neymar said at his post-match press conference. “They don’t know what’s going on every day, what’s going on inside.
“Leo, it is Leo. It is still Leo, it doesn’t change. No, he continues to make a difference. He adapts.
“It is obvious that we hope that everything goes well for the three of us, for me, for Leo, for Kylian [Mbappe]. If the three of us are well, I am sure it is good for the team.”
PSG will be heading to yet another season, hoping to win their maiden Champions League trophy.
