Christian Atsu’s lovely wife, Marie-Claire Rupio has broken her silence following the tragic death of her husband, Newspremises reports.
The Ghanian player was confirmed dead after his lifeless body was removed from the rubble following a 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Turkey on February 6, 2023.
Atsu’s dismissal has left Ghanaian football fraternity in a state of mourning, with former players and friends paying tribute to the winger.
Marie-Claire, who has three children with the former Chelsea and Newcastle player, admits missing Atsu and feels terribly sad over his passing.
“Hey everyone, a lot of you are asking if I am okay now; I am not but I am trying. I am trying to be strong,” she said, as quoted GhanaWeb.
“I have three kids, they need me. I don’t want to talk, I don’t want to eat, I don’t want to sleep, don’t want to do anything. I just want to be there with him.
“But life goes on even though it hurts. It hurts right here so much but I am trying and I will be strong for my kids. I miss him, I miss him so much,” she said.
Atsu’s body has arrived in Ghana ahead of his final burial rites.
