“It’s a dream come true for me!” Omonoia’s goalkeeper Francis Uzoho made 12 saves against Manchester United

English Premier League giants Manchester United defeated Cypriot First Division club Omonoia FC in last night’s Europa League match. Manchester United won the match at Old Trafford with an injury time goal. With a 1-0 win over Omonoia FC, Manchester United continued the second position in Group E with 9 points from 4 games, including 3 wins and 1 loss.

Manchester United’s winning goal was scored by Scott McTominay in the 90+3 minutes of the game. McTominay came on as a substitute for Casemiro in the 81st minute of the game. Although Manchester United made several attempts throughout the match, they had to wait until the final minutes of the game to see results. Jadon Sancho took a one-man effort inside Omonoia’s box, then Sancho’s shot deflected to McTominay’s feet and the Scottish man slotted the ball into the net.

However, the most impressive performance in the match was Omonoia’s goalkeeper Francis Uzoho. Of Manchester United’s 34 shots in the match, 13 were on target. But 12 of those shots were saved by Omonoia’s Nigerian goalkeeper. Uzoho saved 12 shots and only missed that shot which turned into a goal in injury time of the match. However, it must be said that even Manchester United’s Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has bowed down to this 23-year-old.

After the match, Francis Uzoho said he was a Manchester United fan boy and that playing at Old Trafford was a dream come true. “It’s a dream come true for me. I have dreamed of playing here for a long, long time. When I saw the draw I figured I would be playing at Old Trafford. I prayed to God that I got an opportunity to play,” Francis Uzoho said after the match. A very proud moment for Francis Uzoho when he saved 92% of the shots he faced against his favorite club Manchester United.
