Kai Havertz Scores Historic Goal in Chelsea Career

Chelsea attacking midfielder Kai Havertz scored for the home side inside the first nine minutes.

Chelsea put behind their humiliation from West Bromwich Albion at Stamford Bridge where they suffered 5-2 defeat last weekend. On Wednesday, Thomas Tuchel’s boys overran FC Porto in the first leg of UEFA Champions League by 2-0.

Back in the Premier League, the Blues faced Crystal Palace in a London Derby on Saturday evening at Selhurst Park. The visitors went ahead in the 8th minute through Kai Havertz after several attempts in the Crystal Palace area. Havertz collected a precise pass and challenged Palace defense before firing into the bottom left post leaving goalkeeper stranded.

The goal was Havertz’s first for Chelsea away from Stamford Bridge. He scored his first in EPL in a 3-3 draw against Southampton at Stamford Bridge. The German international joined Chelsea from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.

In less than two minutes, Havertz provided Christian Pulisic with an assist before Kurt Zuma made it 3-0 at the half hour mark.
