It has now emerged that Paris Saint-Germain superstars, Kylian Mbappe reportedly urged the French League 1 club to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane.
Mbappe was said to have identify Kane as a potential replacement for Messi and therefore, urged PSG to make a move for him.
Messi, a seven-time Balloon d’Or winner who joined the Parians in summer of 2021, has just a few months remaining on his current contract at Parc des Princes.
According to reports, PSG are willing to extend his stay at the French capital, thanks to his scintillating run of form since the start of the new season.
Following a disastrous season with the League 1 Champions, the Argentine has hit the ground running this term, scoring five goals and registering eight assists from ten appearances across all competitions.
But, with uncertainty surrounding Messi’s future at PSG, reports has now suggest Mbappe recommended the signing of Harry Kane to replace the Barcelona legend.
According to Diario Gol, Mbappe believes Kane has what it takes to blend in at PSG, thanks to his incisiveness in front of goal and experience.
The Tottenham talisman’s current contract with Spurs is set to expire in 2024.
The Englishman has previously shown intent to move abroad for a fresh experience, and PSG could present him with the opportunity.
