Lionel Messi banned from shaving his beard by teammates ahead 2022 World Cup Final

Lionel Messi’s teammates have promised to win the World Cup at whatever costs for their talisman, Newspremises reports.

Argentina deserve to be in the 2022 World Cup final after Rodrigo de Paul, Lisandro Martinez, and Emi Martinez continuously put their lives on the line for him.

And as time passes until the crucial match against France, it is now being said that the Paris Saint-Germain star must repay his teammates for everything they have done for him.

He frequently pays them back by using his performances to rescue them from the gutter. He scored against Mexico at a time when the entire country really needed something to cheer about, much like the goal from outside the box. Or how he dragged Josko Gvardiol, one of the top prospects in international football, during their semifinal victory.

But this time, according to IOL, his teammates expect more than just his on-field performances. He is not permitted to shave his beard.

Messi’s beard

That’s not usually how things go. A seven-time Ballon d’Or winner shouldn’t be given instructions. Asking “how high?” when he asks you to jump is your responsibility. But it seems like his teammates have a valid excuse.

According to Usher Komugisha of Al Jazeera, Messi was advised not to remove his ginger beard because they think it will bring them luck as they try to win the World Cup.

“Lionel Messi has not shaved his beard this World Cup because his teammates would kill him.

A cabala (superstition) within the team believes that his beard is good luck and this time could be the reason they win the World Cup,” said Komugisha.

We’ll find out if this cabala works in 90 minutes. And if it works, Messi had best open a chain store to sell the hair from his beard because, let’s face it, we could all use a little luck now and then. Yes? Thought so too.
