Manchester City vs Real Madrid: team news, Prediction, kick off time, TV, live stream, h2h results – Champions League preview

Manchester City manager, Pep Gaudiolar has provided his side’s team news update ahead of their Champions League semi-final first-leg tie with Real Madrid on Tuesday, Newspremises understands.

Guardiola said he would make a final decision on the fitness of Kyle Walker and John Stones ahead of the Real Madrid clash.

The former Bayern Munich and Barcelona manager also admitted that the pair are ‘doubts’.

Walker has been sidelined with an ankle knock since Man City’s Champions League quarter-final second leg tie against Atletico Madrid earlier this month, while Stones missed last Saturday’s Premier League win against Watford.

Meanwhile, Joao Cancelo will definitely miss the Real Madrid clash through suspension.

Addressing the media on Monday, Guardiola said at his pre-match press conference: “They [Walker and Stones] are doubts, they didn’t train for the last week, ten days, John since Brighton. We’ll see how they feel, and take a decision tomorrow.

“We have a training session this afternoon at 4. We’ll see how they feel.

“We have time tonight and tomorrow morning to decide. I have to see today’s session to decide.”

Manchester City vs Real Madrid team news
Joao Cancelo’s suspension from the first-leg makes a defensive crisis worse for Pep Guardiola. Kyle Walker missed the win over Watford with an ankle injury, alongside John Stones.

Guardiola has confirmed both are doubts: ““They didn’t train last week, ten days, John since Brighton. We will see how they feel, and make a decision tomorrow.”

Nathan Ake was only fit enough for the bench after some fitness concerns while Ruben Dias played his first full game in a while, meaning City could be fairly light in the defensive department.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed David Alaba remains a doubt for Tuesday’s huge Champions League semi-final with Manchester City.

Speaking at his press conference on Monday, Ancelotti hinted the defender – who has started 44 games across all competitions this season – was struggling with an abductor problem.

Alaba has traveled to Manchester, alongside other doubts such as Casemiro and Ferland Mendy, in a big boost for Ancelotti.
