Manchester United to make Frankie De Jong highest-paid player, pay off £17m Barcelona wages

Manchester United are reportedly desperate to sign Frankie De Jong and will make a final offer to tempt the talented midfielder away from Barcelona with a mega-money deal, Newspremises has gathered.

United’s manager, Erik ten Hag has told the club to break its bank to bring De Jong to Premier League, amid growing reports that the 25-year-old is not willing to leave Barcelona.

According to DAILY MAIL, Manchester United are willing to make De Jong, who happens to be Erik ten Hag top summer transfer target, their highest paid player by matching his current £450,000-a-week salary.

The Red Devils are also willing to pay off the £17million that Barcelona owe Dutchman in deferred wages, the publication added.

A reported deal worth £74million has already been agreed with Barcelona but De Jong is currently unwilling to swap La Liga for Premier League football.
