Chelsea defensive midfielder, N’Golo Kante, has opened up on winning the 2020/21 Ballon d’ Or award, Newspremises reports.
Last recall that the Ballon d’ Or was not handed in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Kante, who produced a magnificent display as he helped Chelsea to claim a 1-0 win against Manchester City in this season Champions League final, was backed by Paul Pogba, to win this year’s Ballon d’ Or award.
Kante Reacting to the development ahead of Euro 2021, told a press conference that the talks of him winning the 2020 season Ballon d’ Or this year are premature to him, adding that there is a long way ahead.
“It is a bit early to talk about that,” Kante told news reporters when asked about winning the award.
“We’re in the middle of a great Competition, their fee day left. It is not necessary to say today that I deserve it.”
“Some years back, I was in the top 10 for that. It was the first time and it was nice. But winning is another story for me.
“It’s a great individual title. I see it as the result of a good campaign for the players. It’s not a goal I’m working on. Those who won it in the past are players who have achieved many things during their football career.”
