Nigeria’s Alex Iwobi named in Carabao cup team of round 32

Super Eagles midefider, Alex Iwobi has been included in the Carabao Cup Team of the Round, Newspremises reports.

Iwobi registered one assist as Everton beat Fleetwood Town 1-0 on Tuesday night to record their first win in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

The 26-year old’s outstanding performance and brilliant setting up of Demarai Gray for the decisive goal, earned him the Man of the Match award after that game.

It was Everton’s first win in four games across all competitions this season.

Iwobi was announced as Everton’s most outstanding player on the club’s Twitter handle.

Aside providing the assist for the goal, Iwobi created one big chance, made four key passes, 85% pass accuracy, 3/4 successful dribbles and 8/10 accurate long balls.

Also, 1/1 accurate cross, 7/9 duels won, three tackles won and one clearance made.

Tuesday’s win against Fleetwood is their first after four games played in all competitions this season.

Iwobi recorded 85 percent pass accuracy, 77 touches (more than any player on the pitch), four key passes and eight accurate long passes.

The former Arsenal player is the only Everton player, who made the shortlist.

Iwobi, who has been one of the key performers for the Toffees this season has featured in all of Everton’s four games across all competitions.
