‘No more wasting time with idiots’ – Tyson Fury insists he will never face Anthony Joshua after negotiations for their long-awaited fight broke down

Tyson Fury has insisted that he will never face Anthony Joshua after the breakdown of negotiations for their world heavyweight title fight, Newspremises reports.

The Gypsy King had blamed Joshua for the breakdown of their proposed fight as Derek Chisora was confirmed as the replacement opponent for his December 3 fight at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Before turning to his trilogy fight with Chisora, who he beat in 2011 and 2014, Tyson turned his fury on Joshua for ‘ducking the last big money fight of his career.’

He went on: ‘The fight didn’t happen because they didn’t want it. After the first seven days of discussions they never had any intentions of it taking place.

‘Joshua realised how daunting the task was and he got talked out of it by his people and himself.

‘If that wasn’t the reason, he’d be here now instead of Derek. He doesn’t have any belts. He doesn’t have anything I need and there will not be a fight between him and me ever. Ever.

‘There was just too much messing about. I’m not going through that all over again. They’re too hard to deal with. No more wasting time with idiots.

‘I’m going to tell you what I told his promoter, Eddie Hearn. That the difference between me and his man is that his man is a businessman and I’m an effing Spartan.’

Fury explained his retirement U-turn by saying: ‘I found out that I can’t live a normal life without boxing. I’m going to need therapy for that when I do have to quit. But that won’t be for a while yet.’
