Odion Ighalo scores as Al Hilal edges Zamalek to win Lusail Super Cup

Super Eagles striker, Odion Jude Ighalo scored twice as Al Hilal beat Zamalek to the Lusail Super Cup on Friday, Newspremises reports.

Ighalo put Al Hilal ahead in the 18th minute after receiving a well weighted through ball from his teammate. The Nigerian controlled the ball nicely and lobbed the Zamalek goalkeeper who was already in no man’s land.

Zico equalized for Zamalek in the 33rd minute to put the game back to a very competitive match.


There were no goals for the remaining one hour of exciting football as both teams defense were up to every attacking threats.

Ighalo put the ball in the net for the second time on Friday from the penalty spot which was vital in Al Hilal 4-1 penalty shootout victory over Zamalek.

Odion Ighalo won his first ever league title in June with Al Hilal after joining them in January, and could not be more delighted to add another trophy to the cabinet.
