The only game of the night was scored by Moroccan winger Hakim Ziyech, as the winger was able to meeting a teasing pass from Timo Werner and slot home, to give Chelsea the lead in the second half and what will eventually go on to be the only goal of the encounter.
Ziyech was unlucky to come out with just a goal, as he had a similar effort in the first half being ruled out for offside, and could have doubled Chelsea’s lead in the second half, after missing a one on one opportunity.
Overall it was a brilliant performance from Thomas Tuchel’s team, as they relatively dominated Manchester City from start to finish on the night.
It extends Chelsea’s impressive form to 2 defeats in 19 games, with victories against big teams such as Liverpool, Porto, Atletico Madrid, Spurs, Everton, and just recently Manchester City.
As a usual tradition by the Chelsea fc official Twitter handle, they did ask their club fans to vote for their man of the match on the night, with the nominees being Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Ceaser Aziplicueta, and Jorginho.
After the votes were collated, they did announce the winner via their Twitter handle today being Sunday, and it went to no other player than the goal scorer himself Hakim Ziyech.
