Opinion: Chelsea Would Stay Unbeaten Against Liverpool If Tuchel Uses This Lineup

Chelsea would be back in action against Liverpool at Anfield tomorrow’s night. As, the both sides would lock horns together, to continue their Premier League fixtures for this season.

Obviously, Chelsea need tomorrow’s match more than Liverpool do, because of their chance to make it to the top-4 in the league table. As, they are currently in the 5th position, behind West Ham with just 1 point. Thus, bagging 3 points against the Reds at Anfield, would automatically lift them to the 4th position. And, the Blues can focus solely on staying long at the top-4, having got Everton as their next match in Premier League. Also, Liverpool needs the match as well, having been behind Chelsea, at the 6th position. That’s, the two teams would go rough and tough on each other tomorrow’s night.

Meanwhile, the Thomas Tuchel’s men are 9 matches unbeaten, under the new boss since his arrival at Stamford Bridge in January. And, the Blues have massively improved their performance and contribution, against their opponents in Europe top-5 leagues. Their stats against Atletico Madrid in Champions League, and Manchester united on Sunday, showed that they can stay unbeaten against the Jurgen Klopp’s men tomorrow at Anfield. Although, the Reds have got the likes of Fabinho, Alisson, Jota and the rest back into the squad, but Chelsea still have better chance to eliminate them.

This lineup below can comfortably make Chelsea to stay unbeaten against Liverpool, at Anfield tomorrow’s night. As, the formation has been Thomas Tuchel’s ideal lineup, and it was used against the likes of Manchester United and Atletico Madrid. Obviously, Thomas Tuchel and Jurgen Klopp have many things in common, in terms of setting up their squad and their patterns of playing. But, for the Blues to win against the Reds tomorrow, only this lineup is able and capable to make Chelsea stay unbeaten, to make 10 matches unbeaten in a row.

Here’s the lineup that could make Chelsea stay unbeaten against Liverpool tomorrow:

Azpilicueta, Christensen and Rudiger keep playing as centre-backs, since Thiago Silva ain’t available yet.

  • Ben Chilwell deserves to start tomorrow, based on his performance against Manchester united last Sunday.

Kovacic and Kante should play as double pivot in the midfield.

Since Tammy Abraham is unavailable, then Timo Werner should play as a central-forward.

  • Hudson-Odoi should play as usual from the right-wing-back.

Analysis:-

As usual, Edouard Mendy starts from the goalpost, as he has been performing amazingly for Chelsea since his arrival at Stamford Bridge. And, he obviously deserves to start against Liverpool tomorrow, especially when the Blues need the match more than anything to make it to the top-4 in the league table. Since Thiago Silva ain’t 100% match fitted to play, Azpilicueta, Christensen and Rudiger should play as three centre-backs as usual. As, the Spaniard stays at the right side, the German from the left side and the Denmark international stays in the middle. And, they would work hand-in-hand to keep, the likes of Mane, Salah and Firmino off their territory.

Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ben Chilwell would play as both left-wing-back, and right-wing-back. The two Englishmen have the abilities and capabilities to attack, and at the same time defend. As per the midfield, N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic play as double defensive midfielders, to be able to subdue Liverpool from the midfield. As Hudson-Odoi and Chilwell would be attacking and defending, from the both wings. The Frenchman and the Croatian stay in the midfield, but Kovacic would be pushing forward little by little to attack Liverpool’s box, and create chances for the attackers.

As per the frontline, since Hakim Ziyech is still struggling to get back to his normal form. The frontline would revolve around Christian Pulisic, Timo Werner and Mason Mount. Of course, the Englishman has been dazzling greatly as a forced winger, so he would be playing from the right-wing tomorrow’s night. The American baller attacks from the left-wing, and the German dazzles as No.9 against the Jurgen Klopp’s men. Apparently with this lineup, the Thomas Tuchel’s men can stay unbeaten against the Reds at Anfield.

Lineup: Mendy, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger, Chilwell, Hudson-Odoi, Kovavic, Kante, Pulisic, Werner, Mount.
