Real Madrid duo Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior were presented special award by UEFA shortly before their Super Cup encounter with Frankfurt.
The European and Spanish Champions played the Garman club in the final of the UEFA Super Cup in Helsinki, both eager to claim the first bragging rights of the season.
Banzema was pronounced the best player of the best player for the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League season while Vinicius was named the best young player in the same competition.
It will be recalled that both Benzema and Vinicius Junior played a pivot role in Real Madrid’s triumph in Europe last season.
The Frenchman scored a total of 15 goals and 2 assists while the Brazilian winger contributed with 4 goals and 7 assists, including the match-winner in the final against Liverpool.
Vinicius joined the club in 2018 from the Brazilian side Flamengo.
Vinicius Junior has starred this season alongside Benzema as the Spanish giants won the La Liga and the Champions League.
