Rear video show Lionel Messi’s heartbreaking reaction to Mbappe’s disallowed goal

The possibility of Paris-Saint-Germain winning the Champions League title appears to be slipping through their hands for the innumerable time.

The League 1 Champions which happens to be one of the teams to go unbeaten in the group stages, stumbled to a narrow defeat to Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.

A well-placed volley from winger Kingsley Coman, who was born in Paris, puts Bayern in a strong position to advance to the quarterfinals while putting PSG’s hopes in doubt.

However, the result could have read differently had it not been for the timely intervention of the VAR, which correctly ruled out Kylian Mbappe’s equalizer, CBS Sports reports.

Mbappe who was introduced into the game in the second half due to fitness issues, had an instant impact on the game following his introduction.

The 24-year-old who is the competition’s joint-top scorer with seven goals saw his 82nd-minute goal correctly chopped off after a VAR review.

PSG was upset by the decision, especially Lionel Messi, who argued vehemently after Mbappe’s goal was disallowed.

In a video making the rounds on social media, Messi, who played sparingly against Bayern, can be seen plainly upset by the VAR’s decision, he was spotted raising his hands in desperation.

Why Mbappe’s goal was ruled out?

Kylian Mbappe, who made an astonishing recovery from his thigh injury, started the round-of-16 clash against Bayern Munich from the bench.

Unfortunately, the Frenchman could not cap his injury return with a goal thanks to the Video Assistant Referee.

The image shows Nuno Mendes was marginally offside before he received the through ball from Neymar and eventually teed off Mbappe who finished with aplomb.
