Brazilian forward Richarlison de Andrade has picked up the 2022 FIFA World up goal of the tournament award, beating competition from eventual top scorer Kylian Mbappe, Newspremises reports.
Richarlison, whose World Cup run ended in the quarterfinals earned the award ahead of Kylian Mbappe and the other eight nominees.
FIFA announced the 25-year-old’s goal as the winner of the Hyundai Goal of The Tournament via their Twitter account.
According to Sportstar, with 172 goals scored in Qatar during the 22nd World Cup tournament, it was the most goals scored in any World Cup edition.

Richarlison scored an incredible goal in Brazil’s opening 2022 World Cup game against Serbia.
Despite a shaky start against the European team, the Tottenham Hotspur striker netted his first goal in the 62nd minute to give the Samba Boys a commanding advantage.
The best of the lot was his second goal, which he scored in the 73rd minute after receiving a pass from Vinicius Jr. outside of the boot and dramatically beating the helpless Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.
