Super Eagles Striker, Victor Osimhen equals staggering Record set by legendary George Weah

Nigerian international, Victor Osimhen on Sunday equalled a staggering goals record set by Liberian legend, George Weah in the Italian Serie A, Newspremises understands.

The Super Eagles striker was in action and scored as Napoli beat Sampdoria 2-0, to extend their lead in the league standings to seven.


The former Lille of France striker opened the scoring in the 19th minute of the encounter with a brilliant finish.

Elif Elmas wrapped it up with another goal from the spot late in the game, as the Partenopei claimed all three points.

Osimhen’s goal means the 24-year-old becomes the second African player to score 10+ goals in three different Serie A seasons, after Weah with AC Milan (1995/96, 1996/97 and 1997/98), Complete Sports reports.

The win saw Napoli maintain the top spot with 44 points, seven ahead of champions AC Milan.
