Goal keepers who play football are always sacrificial when it comes to trying to stop the ball from entering the goal post.
They take a lot of risk to help their win. Sometimes, it is even a keeper that becomes a reason for a team to win. Anything they do is under record just as other in field players.
Their shots blocked, saves, clean sheets and even goals. All these determines a good goal stopper.
Apparently, the total number of clean sheets a goal keeper has is what is used to determine the best. When you win the golden gloves, it means you are the best. This is why goal keepers in every league strive to make such achievement.
In this article, I want to show you stats of two goal keepers in the English Premier League and who is better by the stats. Edouard Mendy of Chelsea and Bernard Leno of Arsenal.
Mendy who joined Chelsea this season has been outstanding and good in the goal post. He has done well and saved his team so many times. He came in as a result of Arrizabalaga weaknesses. Mendy made 32 appearances for his club and had 20 clean sheets.
EDOUARD MENDY (CHELSEA)
Bernard Leno on the other hand has been in the league playing for Arsenal for quite some time. In his own statistics, after he made 106 appearances, he was able to keep 29 clean sheets.
BERNARD LENO (ARSENAL)
By this record when Bernard Leno made his 32nd appearance, he did not make up to 20 clean sheets as Mendy did. Also, if Mendy had made the huge total number of appearances Bernard made, his clean sheets would have been up to 50. From the above stats, Mendy is undoubtedly better than Leno.
