Timo Werner has revealed his two teammates that assured him that he will score on Saturday against West Ham United.
Chelsea took advantage of their encounter against West Ham United in London Stadium. The Hammers are keen on securing a Champions League qualification this season but Chelsea have dented their hope after beating them at home.
Heading into the game, both sides had 55 points each and were placed in the fourth and fifth position on the English premier league table. Thanks to Timo Werner’s Strike before the halftime break, Chelsea clinched the three points and have established a clear lead in the top four race ahead their host, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspurs.
Timo Werner’s goal against the Hammers was his First since February and he has ended his 14-Match goal drought for club and country.
He told reporters after the game that his teammates had told him that he will score a goal and when he does, he should point at them.
He said: “Callum and Tammy said I would score today and when I score I should point to them, so when I scored I pointed to them.”
Timo Werner ran towards the edge of the pitch after he scored and pointed his finger before he hugged Ben Chilwell who set him up with an assist for the goal. It was unclear whom he was pointing to at the time but he has revealed that it was Callum Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham.
