Timo Werner arrives in Germany for medical tests ahead of return to RB Leipzig from Chelsea

Timo Werner has reportedly arrived at Germany to complete his sensational move back to RB Leipzig on permanent basis after two years at Stamford Bridge, Newspremises reports.

The German side and English giants Chelsea have already agreed on a deal for the player’s services, with Werner just needing to pass a medical before the move is finalised.

The medical has been scheduled for today, and Werner has already arrived in Germany ahead of the final step. Sky Sports shared a video on social media of the German international arriving in the country ahead of his proposed medical.

Werner left the Bundesliga club to sign for Chelsea in a record deal worth £45million transfer in 2020.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano took to Twitter to confirm that the two sides signed the contracts, and all that was left was Werner passing his medical.

However, the Chelsea striker has been having regular low game time at Stamford Bridge especially last season under Thomas Tuchel.

The German international was left out of Chelsea’s squad for their season-opening 1-0 win over Everton on Saturday.

After seeing his involvement drop significantly last season, Werner expressed his desire to play more often during Chelsea’s pre-season tour of America, particularly ahead of the World Cup in November.

Wener in interview in Chelsea’s pre-season tour of the United States, he hinted that his future may lie away from London.

The player only made 89 appearances for the Blues, scoring 23 goals in the process, and appears to have had a falling out with coach Thomas Tuchel.

He will be eager to return to Leipzig, where he enjoyed so much success and help Die Roten Bulle compete for silverware.
