Viral footage showed that Osimhen attended the Redeemed Christian Church of God Parish gathering in Lagos, captivating members who enthusiastically clapped and appeared star-struck at his presence.
Witnesses were delighted as Osimhen shared a warm embrace with the pastor before being handed the microphone during the service.
This moment unfolded following Osimhen’s recent red card in Napoli’s 2-0 defeat against Roma in the Italian Serie A, where goals from Lorenzo Pellegrini and Romelu Lukaku secured victory against the reigning Italian champions. Matteo Politano, another Napoli player, also received a red card during the match, as reported by Daily Post.
Consequently, Osimhen has been released by his club, coinciding with Nigeria’s final preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations commencing on January 13.
The Nigerian team, placed in Group A alongside hosts Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau, includes Osimhen in the final 25-man squad for the continental tournament, where he is expected to lead the attacking front alongside Victor Boniface.
