An old video featuring Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen naming former Chelsea and Ivory Coast legend Didier Drogba as his role model has surfaced on social media. Osimhen emphasized that watching him back then was therapeutic.
Osimhen has been the subject of numerous transfer rumors ever since he helped Napoli win the Scudetto after 33 years and captured the hearts of the club’s supporters.
Osimhen made history by becoming the first African to win the Serie A Golden Boot last season after scoring 26 league goals.
After a productive season in Italy, Osimhen has been spending his vacation time in Lagos.
According to the video on Twitter, Osimhen who was 16-year-old then was asked to clear the air about him being wanted by Tottenham.
Osimhen rejects Tottenham’s move
”I really don’t know anything about the Tottenham speculation and I am not going to the club. Didier Drogba is my role model, he is someone I watched on the television for many years.
”If I would join a side in England, it will be Chelsea because they are among the biggest sides in the world.”
