Argentina captain, Lionel Messi marked his return to club football with an impressive performance, scoring in his first post-World Cup match for Paris Saint-Germain, Newspremises understands.
Messi scored a goal on his return as PSG returned to winning ways, by beating Angers 2-0 on Wednesday evening.
After guiding Argentina to their 2022 World Cup triumph in December, Messi was given a long break before starting to practice during the first week of the new year.
On his return to club play, he was given a hearty guard of honour by his PSG colleagues and staff.
As the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner stroked home from close range to extend PSG’s lead, Messi will do what he does best: have an impact on the game.
