Video: Watch as Lionel Messi is being ‘slapped’ by teammate Rodrigo De Paul during playful training session

Superstar footballer, Lionel Messi and Rodrigo De Paul experienced an humorous moment during Argentina’s training session in Miami, Florida.

De Paul gave Messi a gentle slap on the cheek to end the altercation before Leandro Paredes intervened to separate the two.

Argentina are currently in the United States as they make last-minute preparations for the World Cup. The Albiceleste will be heading to Qatar as a strong favourite, having dominated for the last two years.

In a friendly match against Honduras, Messi put on a display by scoring twice. The other goal was scored by Lautaro Martinez, giving Lionel Scaloni’s team a 3-0 victory.

Messi and De Paul did, however, get into a minor argument prior to the game at the Hard Rock Stadium.

Daily Mail reports that De Paul was taped saying,

The two then laugh while Paredes intervenes to keep them in line. Since Messi was called up to the national team setup in 2018, the two have become close.

After won two trophies in the course of a single year, they will be looking to lead the team to World Cup victory in Qatar.

Argentina’s group stage opponents include Saudi Arabia, Mexico, and Poland.
